Our Tangos R Us Food Truck brings you Empanadas unlike anything you’ve ever tasted. Their story begins generations ago, with my wife Fabiana’s grandmother, Abuela Emma, who started making them during the era of Eva Perón, around 1946, in Greater Buenos Aires, Argentina — when times were hard and food was scarce.

When many families couldn’t afford even a sandwich, Abuela Ema cooked these empanadas to help feed some members of her community. What began as an act of compassion quickly became legendary.

Word spread fast. People didn’t just enjoy them — they looked forward to eating one. Soon, neighbors were placing advance orders in large quantities, drawn by their generous filling, irresistible flavor, and the care poured into every bite.

In her town, they became known simply as “Abuela Ema’s empanadas” — famous not only for their taste, but for the love, dignity, and tradition behind them.

Today, Fabiana proudly revives this legacy in Jacksonville serving these same empanadas through Tangos R Us Food Truck, alongside other authentic dishes such as Tangos Bowl, Choripan Sandwiches, Milanesa Napolitana Sandwich or on a plate, Ribeye(churrasco) our specialty Messi Burgers and much more “grandma-style” Argentine recipes.

The empanada dough is sourced directly from Argentina to preserve its authentic texture and flavor, and the fillings are crafted to deliver that same seductive taste that once brought an entire community
